I include a complimentary engagement session in each of my wedding collections as a gift to my couples, and the reasons behind that are not only for the couple but also for me. Let me explain a bit.

• It allows me to learn what it’s like photographing you, what angles work for you, the poses you look most comfortable in and how to get you to interact with each other in a way that will be most authentic to you BEFORE the wedding day.
• It gives you a chance to get comfortable in front of my camera before the wedding! Every photographer has a different shooting style so it’s great to get a feel for what it’s like to have me photograph you.
• It allows you to know some of the lingo I’ll use during your wedding so that photos can go even faster! So when I say things like “go into a half hug” or when I tell you to kiss, you already know what that means and you’ll know already that I’ll want you to smile into your kiss and then smile out of your kiss, because you learn that at your engagement session.
• It’s a way for me to show my appreciation to you for choosing me as your photographer by blessing you with that complimentary gift!
• It also allows us to be able to meet in person before the wedding so that we are already familiar with each other, comfortable with each other, and I won’t feel like a stranger at your wedding and instead I’ll feel more like a friend!

These are just some of the many reasons why I give each of my wedding clients a complimentary engagement session. You deserve to have amazing portraits with the love of your life where you look and feel more like you usually do, outside of being all done up for your wedding day!
